George Nelson Burdick was the first born son of Nelson Jasper and Margretha Mary Georgiana (Kautz) Burdick on April 28, 1892 inn Sturgis.
He worked at Fort Meade.
He was in the US Army during World War I.
He married Hannah Matilda Williams on June 13, 1928 in Bonesteel, South Dakota. To this union three children were born, Billings, Geraldine and Mary.
Services were held May 11, 1973 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis. Pallbearers were Leo Burdick, Floyd C. Short Jr, Dewayne Peterson, Manford Foltz, Floyd Terkildsen and Sidney Foltz.
He is survived by his wife, son, Billings, daughters Mary and Geraldine.
Interment will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery.
