Silas Winans, Cont & NY Lines, Elizabeth Calkins former Wid, W16527, sol lived at Amenia in Dutchess Co NY when he enl, sol m Elizabeht (---) 23 Dec 1784 at Little Nine Partners in Dutchess Co NY, sol appl 20 Jan 1820 at Wolott in Seneca Co NY aged 60 & sol d there 25 Sep 1823 & his wid m next to Joshua Calkins who later died (date not given), wid appl 3 Dec 1844 at Perry in Wyoming Co NY aged 77, in 1821 sol had referred to 4 children in his family aged between 8 & 15 yrs also a child of 3 yrs which he was "incumbered" with supporting, children who were shown in the claim were; a son Ransom Winans wrote letter on 8 Mar 1847 from Phelps NY, a daughter Elizabeth Winegar aged 57 made aff'dt 12 Dec 1844 in Wayne Co NY & she stated when she was age of 4 yrs her sis Lucy was born, a son Chester Winans aged 45 made aff'dt 9 Dec 1844 in Cayuga Co NY a son Silas Winans was referred to William, BLW #6689-100-10 Aug 1797, srv as a Pvt in the CT Line
