WILLIAM DEMOUY CSA , 82, one of the old-time residents of Mobile, died yesterday morning at 7:45 oclock at the home of his daughter , Mrs R.D. Harrison , 1296 Dauphin St , after a long illness.
Mr Demouy was a native of this city born may, 9, 1833,
For many years he acted as casher for the old Southern Bank, of this city. He served in the twenty-first Alabama regiment during the civil war, and fought in the battle of Shiloh. He wsa captured at FT Gaines. Mr Demouy was one of the original members of the Strickers. He is survived by two daughters , Mrs R.D. Harrison and Miss Modesta Demouy: two sisters , Miss Mercede Demouy, and Mrs Regina Rapier: three brothers, Maximin, Augustin and Franklin P Demouy and other relatives.
The funeral will be held from the residense of his daughter
Mrs R.D. Harrison ,1296,Dauphin St, this morning at 8:30 o"clock at ST Mary's Church, at 9 o"clock with requiem Mass.
Interment will take place at Magnolia Cemetery
