South Bend--John O. "Bologna John" Walker, 93, passed away August 24, 2012.
Born April 30, 1919, he was the son of Elijah and Edith (Dorsett) Walker. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Ogle.
On January 24, 1970, John married Grayce Sorensen, who survives. Also surviving are 8 children, Larry (Jackie) Walker of Elkhart, Marjorie Haasa of Mishawaka, Jackie Liebertowski of Niles, Candace Walker of South Bend, Lisa (Bob) Ruth of South Bend, Connie Stern of Indianapolis, Bonnie (Joe) Knowles of Denver, CO., and Jim (Peggy) Hall of Indianapolis; a brother, Bill Dorsett of Tillamook, OR; 17 grandchildren, as well as great and great-great-grandchildren.
John was a proud meat salesman for Peter Eckrich & Sons for over 35 years. He also was a member of the Teamsters #364 for many years. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He and Grayce were winter residents of Sebring, Fl, for 29 years.
Per John's request, no services are being held.
