Members of Battery C, 4th Howitzer Battalion, were ordered out Friday to McCreary County, to form a search party, to find John Cooper, age 87, who had been missing since Wednesday. They were assisted by National Guard units from Williamsburg and Somerset, and
the State Police, but were unsuccessful in finding Mr. Cooper.
Sgt. G. D. Drake of the Kentucky State Police reports that the body of Mr. Cooper was located about three miles from his home on Sunday morning. The cause of his death was thought to have been from exposure.
