Mary Ellen Bender, 80, of Jacksonville, FL died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Bender was a native of Rinard, Illinois and had been living in Jacksonville for 60 years. She was a member of the Starratt Road Christian Church and enjoyed serving in the concession stand at the San Mateo Little League Ball Park. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 61 years, Charles Bender, who passed away just last month. She is survived by her children, Allen (Daira) Bender, Steven (Erika) Bender and Susan Ann Bender (Lennie) Gainey and six grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 am Friday, January 4, 2013 in the Starratt Road Christian Church, 2311 Starratt Road, Jacksonville, FL 32226 with Pastor Paul Waddelow officiating. Her final resting place will be in the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2335 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.
