SCHMALTZ, Agnes (nee Hagel)
May 15, 1918 – December 25, 2012

Agnes Schmaltz (nee Hagel) of Calgary, AB and formerly of Beiseker, AB, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at the age of 94 years.

Agnes was born in Beiseker on May 15, 1918. She married Felix Schmaltz in Beiseker in 1944 and there they farmed until his sudden passing in 1958. In 1959, Agnes moved to Calgary with her family, where she has since resided. Agnes loved spending time with her family, who were always her priority. She also enjoyed travelling.

Agnes is survived by her children, Rosanne and Marshall Pfannmuller of Drayton Valley, Patrick and Nellie Schmaltz of Chestermere, Jackie and Brian Stone of Calgary, Charlotte and Gerry Popplewell of Saskatoon, SK, and Mary Lou and Greg Gallivan of Strathmore. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Laurel, Dawn, Daylen, Lorelli, Andrew, Todd, Jeff, Kristy, Dallas, Kyle and Erin; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Agnes was predeceased by her husband Felix in 1958; her parents Anton and Rosa Maria Hagel; and eight brothers and three sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 3:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W.) on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Beiseker, AB at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
