Funeral services for Ben Harrison Perkins, 69 years of age, were held at 2 o'clock Saturday, June 28 from the Robinson Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Chilton, Rev. Paul Payne, and the Rev. Jess Parker in charge. Burial was in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Mr. Perkins died at the Rosary Hospital Thursday, June 26, after a long illness. Mr. Perkins was born in Green County, the son of the late Jeff Perkins and the late Ida Bell Perkins. He united in marriage to Miss Virginia Pike in 1912 who survives him. He professed faith early in life and was a member of the Methodist church. He was a resident for many years of the Robinson Creek section. Besides his widow, he leaves a son and six daughters: Edwin Harrison Perkins and Mrs. Bill Orendorff, Louisville; Mrs. Buddy Corbin, Mrs. Bill Sharpe, Mrs. Earnest Barnett, Mrs. Raymond Bault, and Mrs. Alvin Barnett, all of Taylor County. One daughter, Mattie Perkins, died April 21, 1935. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Nora Beams, of Indiana, and fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The pallbearers were: Harvey Antle, Veachel Antle, Jack Pike, Earl Pike, James Perkins, and Elmer Perkins.
