Grand Island, NE – Leland H. Eickhoff, 53, of 4157 Airport Road died Wednesday, May 5, at the Skilled Nursing Unit of St. Francis Memorial Health Center. Services will be at 11 am Saturday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Dean Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Eickhoff was cremated. Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Eickhoff was born Oct. 19, 1939 at St. Michael to Edward and Blanche (Hanousek) Eickhoff. He attended District 33 School through the eighth grade and then attended Wood River High School, graduating in 1957. He married Marilynn Stevens on May 28, 1960, at Shelton. They lived in Grand Island, where he was employed with New Holland for many years and then with Spelt's-Schultz Lumber Co. as a mill worker from October 1990 to 1993, when he retired for health reasons. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and the Eagles Club.
Survivors include his father, Edward of Wood River; two daughters, three grandchildren; and two sisters, He was preceded in death by him mother. Lunch: Messiah Lutheran Church in Grand Island.
