He started his career at Artistic Ornamental Iron and Forest Park Ornamental Iron. He later founded his own companies, Capital Metals and All Span Builders. He also had a passion for farming and real estate development.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Ina Brown; brother Charles Brown; sister Margaret Hiott and brother John W. Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Blanton Brown of Fayetteville; sons Neal (Tonya) Brown, Jr. of Newnan; son Scott (Kimberly) Brown of Peachtree City; grandchildren Whitney and Jake; sister Nita (Calvin) Hill, sister Vicki (Steve) Johnson; brother Billy Ray (Helen) Brown, all of Elberton, GA; also, several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Chaplain Dickson Brown and Pastor Scott Mize will officiate. The burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
