Marie Mildred Hopkins passed away October 11, 2012, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was 90 years of age.

In August 1943, Marie was united in marriage to Kenneth Russell Hopkins. They made their home in San Diego, California, were Kenneth was stationed in the United States Navy. In 1945, following Kenneth's military service, they moved to Westboro, Missouri, where they were long-time residents. Marie was a homemaker and mother of their seven children. Kenneth and Marie owned and operated a general store in Westboro, Missouri. Kenneth passed away in 1970.
Marie was employed by Head Start for 22 years in Tarkio, Missouri. She was a member of the Merrill-Smith American Legion Auxiliary in Westboro, St. Paul's Catholic Church in Tarkio, and the Altar Society. She lived the last 8 years of her life in Omaha, Nebraska with her daughter, Janet.
At the time of her death, Marie was grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by two sisters, Naomi and Lorraine Betz; and brother, Donald Betz.
A Mass of the Christian Burial was held October 15, 2012, St. Paul's Catholic Church, Tarkio, Missouri, followed by burial in Center Grove Cemetery, in Westboro, Missouri.
