Most likely born sometime in 1841, Mitchell is my great great great uncle. Before he went off to the Civil War with his father, he got Delphine Sprouse pregnant and told his mother, "There's a woman that might be pregnant with my child. If the child looks like it might be mine, never let it suffer or want for anything." He fought in the Battle of Manassas (and possible others) and died months later from typhoid fever.
