Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial is at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island, where military honors will be presented by Moline American Legion Post 246. Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday.

Mr. Averill was born on Dec. 9, 1929 in Des Moines. He married Patricia L. Marre on Aug. 11, 1950, in Leadville, Colo.
He worked 39 years for Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric Co. and was a supervisor in the gas department when he retired in 1992.
Ted was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. He loved fishing, camping and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; daughter, Cynthia Averill, Cortez, Colo.; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Donna Averill, Colorado Springs, Colo. and Curtis Averill, Rock Island; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Kay Averill, Independence, Kan.; and sisters, Mildred Hampton, Green River, Utah, and Valda Averill of Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepparents.
