Mary Ater was married to George Ater who came from Virginia with his children as a widower. Mary was a widow and came from Dorchester County Maryland where she was born on 24 Aug 1763 to Robert & Nancy Voss. She 1st married Gladston Colston and had the following children: Henry b. 1792; Nancy b.1795; Margaret b.1799. married 2nd Edmond Brannock in Nov 1804 and 3rd Married George Ater in march 1805. Most people in the area knew her as "Mary Polly Voss". Mary is my 5th great grandmother.
