He married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Clark (dec), a marriage that lasted 71 years. In his younger years in San Jose he was widely known for his skills as a softball pitcher. He will be remembered as a hardworking man who took pride in what he did and who could fix or build just about anything, and as a gentle man who treated everyone with kindness and respect.
