Anita M. Allen entered into rest on December 29, 2012 in Bryan. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, with the Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Anita was born August 19, 1930 in Bryan, Texas, the daughter of Michael F. and Josephine (Petroski) Lero. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1948. At the age of 18, Anita started working as a bookkeeper in various Bryan Auto Dealerships. During her career, Anita was recognized by General Motors with numerous awards for her financial reports. Anita was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she volunteered her time to many different causes.

Anita married Jay R. Allen on August 2, 1952 and celebrated their 60th anniversary this past August. Mrs. Allen was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening and collecting antique Fenton glassware.

Survivors include her husband, Jay R. Allen of Bryan; daughter, Janice Allen of Bryan; son, Dennis Allen and his wife Debbie of College Station; brother, Raymond Lero of Bryan; granddaughter, Kelly House and her husband Garrett of Bryan; and great grandson, Aiden House of Bryan.
