David Charles Brickell of Fairbanks, Alaska, died of heart failure in Seattle, Wash., on Sept. 18, 2012, at the age of 70. David was born in Hillsdale, Pa., on Aug. 16, 1942.
David was a national collegiate scholar, graduating from Cornell University in 1964 with a degree in biochemistry. He came to Alaska to work in 1965, and returned to make Alaska his permanent home the following year. In 1972, David earned a master's degree in fisheries at the University of Alaska. David began his career as a certified Rolfer in 1986, establishing successful practices in both Fairbanks and Juneau. David now leaves to explore other regions of research and experience.
David is survived by his siblings, Allen Brickell, Eunice Brickell, Eileen (David) Dougherty, and Erlene (Jack) Hauser of Pennsylvania, TO Brickell and Carl (Valerie) Brickell of Colorado, and Karen (Rob) Brickell of Maryland. David was preceded in death by his nephew, Jeremy Dougherty, and his mother, Lavada Brickell.
At David's request, there will be no funeral service. David's ashes will be scattered in Fairbanks, California, Pennsylvania, and Romania.
