Born in Illinois on Nov. 12, 1906, Mr. Laughery, who was known as Nick, was a sanitary inspector for the Monterey County Health Department for 27 years. He retired from that position in 1967 and shortly afterward moved to Tuolumne County.

Mr. Laughery is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Diane Ricketts of Boulder, Colo.; a sister, Lois Hasen of Holiday, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Cremation was under the direction of the Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home in Sonora. Ashes will be scattered in Lyon County, Nev. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Sonora.

**To clarify the nickname confusion: He was known as 'Nick' to friends and 'Skeeter' to family. His family maintains his memorial, therefore 'Skeeter' was used instead of 'Nick'.
