Emma Grubb Whitesell, age 81 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 8:36 AM. She was born in Clay County, Kentucky on January 26, 1931 the daughter of James H. and Alice (Gabbard) Ball. On September 4, 1947 in Covington, Kentucky she married Dallas Grubb, and he preceded her in death in 1993; on March 25, 2005 in Jackson County, Kentucky she was married to Elmer Whitesell.
Emma was employed as a nurse's aide at Mercy Hospital for 27 years, retiring in 1985.
She is survived by
her husband, Elmer Whitesell of Hamilton;
six children, Glenn (Sharon) Grubb of Brookville, Indiana, Gary (Debbie) Grubb of Okeechobee, Florida, Dallas Grubb Jr., Rosie (John) Heinrich, James (Midge) Grubb, and David Grubb, all of Hamilton;
a brother, Herbert Ball of Manchester, Kentucky;
two sisters, Rosa Heuser and Edith Caudill, both of Holiday, Florida;
16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
a brother, Arthur Ball;
a sister, Mae Patterson;
a grandson, James Grubb.
