Atlanta - Charles Rufus Beaudrot, 83, of Atria Buckhead 2848 Lenox Road N.E., formerly of Ridgewood Circle, Greenwood, S.C., husband of Alice Adams Beaudrot, died Thursday, March 6, 2003 in Atlanta.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Joseph L. and Russie Prather Beaudrot. He was a 1941 graduate of Clemson College, receiving an engineering degree and a Navy World War II veteran. A South Carolina state registered professional engineer, he retired from Duke Power Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood, where he was a former deacon and choir member. He was also a member and past president of Greenwood Lions Club and served on the Greenwood County Voting Board.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Charles Rufus "Chuck" Beaudrot Jr. of Atlanta; a daughter, Mrs. J. Ernest (Ray) Young Sr. of Greenwood; a sister, Alice B. Baines of Duluth, Ga.; five grandchildren.
Services are 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Greenwood, conducted by Dr. Tony Hopkins. The body will be placed in the church at 2. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is 2-3 Sunday in the church parlor. The families are at their respective homes.
