Born, officially, 'Charles Hillyard Black' (on Canada birth document) to Hugh C. Black(1849-1936) and Agnes Baker(1858-1902) on 03 Aug 1880 in (Manilla Station, Mariposa District area of) Toronto, Ontario Province, Canada. Immigrated to the U.S. in 1903. Married Victoria M. Martin on 26 Apr 1905 in Escanaba, Delta Co., MI. Had 2 sons Donald Hugh(1906-1961) and Robert James (1908-1989) before moving, first, to Hopkinsville, Christian Co., Kentucky by the 1910 Federal Census, then to Clinton, Clinton Co., Iowa around 1911-12, to Evansville, Vanderburgh Co., Indiana by 1913, then to Regina and Moosejaw, both in Saskatchewan Province, Canada by 1919 thru 1922. Finally, they permanently relocated to Oregon: Portland, Multnomah Co., then Corvallis, Benton Co. where he was a piano tuner (after many years as a traveling piano salesman) until his death in 1939. His wife, Victoria, later moved to Los Angeles Co., CA where her two sons settled, permanently, in the late 1940s.Spouse: Victoria Martin
