ROCKFORD – Ethel M. Rubeck-Samet, 92, of Kingston, Ill. died at 11:01 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Born Feb. 21, 1920, in Marengo; the daughter of John and Maude (Cook) Becklinger. Ethel was a graduate of Sycamore High School. She married Howard John Rubeck on June 24, 1938 in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 1965. In 1976, Ethel married Harry Samet who preceded her in death on May 22, 1982.
She is survived by her children, Howard (Doris) Rubeck of Sycamore; Russell Rubeck of West Port, Ore.; Lowell Rubeck of Belvidere; Mary (Bill) Cotner of Rockford; and Paul Rubeck of Sycamore. Ethel had 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by two spouses and one grandson, Lance Rubeck on Nov. 8, 2003.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Olson Funeral and Cremation Services, Ltd., Cooper-Quiram Chapel, 202 E. Main St., Genoa, IL with the Rev. James P. Freund officiating. Visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Private burial in Kingston Cemetery.
