Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn (Bauer) Schmitz, 376 Broad Road, who died suddenly Tuesday night at Perth Amboy General Hospital, Perth Amboy, NJ, will be held at the Koyen Funeral Chapel, 285 High Street, Perth Amboy, NJ, with Rev. Sylvestus H. Jensen, minister of Simpson Church officiating. Burial will be in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy, NJ.

Mrs. Schmitz was active for many years in the American Legion Auxiliary and is past president of both Perth Amboy Unit 45 Auxiliary and Middlesex County Auxiliary. She was employed for 25 years as principal accounts clerk in the real estate department of Woodbridge Township in the Municipal Building.

President of the Past Presidents Parley of the American Legion Auxiliary, she was poppy chairman of the unit for many years and had served as chairman of the Middlesex County Legion Auxiliary annual conventions.

She was the widow of Louis Schmitz, a member of Simpson Methodist Church, Perth Amboy and was affiliated with Huguenot Chapter, Tottenville, Order of Eastern Star; and with Harmony Shrine 15, White Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Hanna Bauer, and a sister, Miss Catherine Bauer, Perth Amboy; a brother, August, Fords and a niece. Mrs. Ray Thompson, Port Reading.
