Martha Jean Yancey Koelemay, 87, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Willis-Knighton Pierremont after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 5, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Officiating will be Dr. Will K. Andress. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Koelemay was born on September 30, 1925, in Glenwood, Arkansas. Her family moved to Shreveport, where she spent most of her formative years. She graduated from Centenary College with a major in music. After marrying, she taught music at St. Vincent's Academy as well as teaching piano lessons at her home. After several years of teaching, she decided to dedicate the rest of her life to being a wonderful mother and homemaker to her husband and three sons. She continued to express her love of music by singing in the choir at First United Methodist Church and by playing the piano at many occasions and church activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, James. She is survived by her three sons, Jim and wife, Joan, of San Francisco, CA, Alan and wife, Brenda, of Houston, TX and Kevin and wife, Karen, of Memphis, TN; as well as her grandchildren, Kelly, Chuck, Kristopher, Cris and Cody.
