INJURIES KILL ARTHUR S. DEREU; RITES TODAY

PROPHETSTOWN: Arthur S. DeReu. 59, Prophetstown, died Saturday night, November 13, 1965, in Morrisson Community Hospital of injuries received in a fall Saturday afternoon from a corn crib.

Whiteside County coroner's jurors Monday ruled the death accidental. The inquest was conducted by Coroner John Ardapple in Gardner Funeral Chapel here.

Mr. DeReu had lived in Prophetstown 21 years and was a member of the local Molders Union.

Survivors include his widow, Eunice; a son, Lynn, Prophetstown; his father, Sam; a brother, Lloyd, Sheffield, IL; and three sisters, Mrs. Charles Vetter Sr., Hooppole; Mrs. William Newlon, Prophetstown; and Mrs. Myrtle Van DeWostine, Atkinson.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. today in St. Catherine's Catholic Church here.

Burial will be in St. Catherine's section of Riverview Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Gardner Funeral Chapel.
