Harold V. "Slim" Gaugler, 85, of Phoenixville, passed away on November 5, 2008 at Manor-Care of King of Prussia.

He was the husband of the late Julia (Marton) Gaugler, who died in January of 1995.

Born in Boyertown, he was a son of the late Raymond and Elsie (Dotterer) Gaugler.

He was an Army veteran of WWII and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Slim was employed for many years at the West Company until his retirement. He also tended bar for many years at Kohn's Tavern on the corner of Gay St. and Washington Ave, in Phoenixville.

He was a member of Parkside United Church of Christ.

Harold is survived by children Janice Stittgen of Frederick, MD., and Harold "Jim" and Ronald R., both of Phoenixville; four grandchildren, John, Rebecca and Jason Stittgen and Rachel Jaxx; five great grandchildren, Lily, Asia, Becky, Alicia and Katie; two sisters, Mary Dunning and Ruth Wentzel; and four brothers, Earl, Leroy, William and Robert.

He was also preceded in death by a brother Raymond and sisters Arlene and Grace.
