EVA MEREL COOPER 80, of Sulphur Springs, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Texas Regional Medical Center in Sunnyvale, Texas. A graveside service is set for 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Forest Chapel Cemetery with Sandra Oliver officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Eva was born one of fourteen children to Albert Jack and Eva Lela Brown Hawkins on April 23, 1932 in the Biardstown Community of Lamar. She married Eddie C. Cooper on April 7, 1949 at Ramseur Baptist Church in Paris. He died October 6, 2001. She was a homemaker and member of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Casey Dale Cooper and Paige Cooper; two sisters, Pat Childress and husband, John of Sulphur Springs and Linda Haley and husband, J.D. of Forney; and one brother, Harold Hawkins of Sulphur Springs. She was preceded in death by her three sons, Jerry Dale Cooper, Randy Clay Cooper, and Kenneth Craig Cooper; and ten siblings, Nell Exum, Monell Hawkins, Doris Uquhart, Sadie Hurley, A.J. Hawkins, Mae Powell, Ray Hawkins, her twin, Treva Nall, Wendell Hawkins, and Betty Ray.
