Ferne Wilma Seifert was the daughter of Winniferd Patterson Grimes and Sidney Grimes. Ferne was born 29 Oct 1906 in Lucas County, IA, and she was the twin of Frank Grimes. Her family moved to Nebraska before 1920 and Ferne met and married Arthur Gariss about 1927. They had one son, Frank Arthur, who is buried near her. She and Arthur divorced in the 1930s and she later married Harry Seifert.

SEIFERT, FERNE

Ferne W. Seifert, 97, of Las Vegas, died Dec. 28, 2003. She was an elementary education teacher. Viewing will be at 9 a.m., Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, with services following, both at Bunkers Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Palm Valley View Cemetery.

[Mrs. Seifert was my second grade school teacher at Crestwood Elementary school in Las Vegas in 1957-1958. She was a wonderful teacher and I am sorry that I never thanked her while she was still alive.]
