Mr. Eichinger passed away early Wednesday evening, January 2, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 59 years. He was born April 23, 1953 in Bay City. Mr. Eichinger was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Amelith. He had a great passion for landscaping, enjoyed playing and watching sports, had a great love for the outdoors and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife the former Joan A. Neumeyer whom he married January 13, 1973. Also surviving are his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren; Angela and Mickel Davis, their children; Samantha, Alyssa and Gabriel, one son, daughter-in-law and grandchild; Jason and Jennifer Eichinger, their child; Zoe, his mother; Valerie Korman, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Larry and Kathy Eichinger and Lonnie and Pat Eichinger, his sister; Patricia Neigh, his mother-in-law; Wilma Stewart, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Sally and Howard McMullen and Paul and Barb Neumeyer, many nieces and nephews, his special friends; Linda and Mike Piotrowski. He was predeceased by his father; Arthur Eichinger and his father-in-law; Melvin Neumeyer.The family would like to extend a special thanks to his nurse Chris and personal aide Kisha and everyone else at Luther Manor for all their kindness.

Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church of Amelith. Officiating will be Rev. Stephen P. Starke with interment following in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Eichinger will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
