On September 25, 1962, God smiled once again upon Rock Hill, and blessed the lives of Annie and Robert Douglas witi: a son, they named him Quenton Quetel Douglas. Little did they know that the songs his mother Annie sung to him as she rocked him in her arms as a babe, would now be the songs that rock through the sanctuary choirs of our cities because of the gift of "Ouent". Quenton was gifted at an early age by God to sing, direct, and to inspire others to sing under the unction of the Power of God. Throughout the duration of his: . ministry, he was known for his spirit of excellence and perfection. He aided in formulating and organizing the Fellowship Mass Choir and occasionally directed the Nazareth Baptist Church Combined Choirs. He directed the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Musical Choir. It was noticed throughout the city of this angelic and anointed minister of music, and his assistance was called upon by various community and church choirs.
Quenton's bright sense of humor, his sharp dressing and robust laughter caused many to love and respect him. He always knew what to say and how to sa) it to cause a room to erupt into laughter. No one ever. met Quenton and left his presence without feeling the joy of the Lord.
As a child, Quenton joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church and immediately became active on the choir. He was a founding member of the °JC Honor Youth Choir", a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Musical Choir and etteoded Sunday School regularly. He furthered his ministry by moving to Charlotte, NC and joining Salem Missionary Baptist Church. He was actively involved with the young adult choirs, A L Jinwright Mass Choir and the Men's choir. While serving on these ministries he was heard by Donald Lawrence of the Tri-Citv Singers and was invited to join this anointed group in 1994. He served faithfully until his health began to fail. After returning home, he united himself, with the Spirit of Faith Choir.
He was a 1980 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He entered the work force and was employed by Bell South of Charlotte, NC in 1981. He then accepted a position with Cigna Health Insurance and later became a Mecklenburg County employee.
