NEW OXFORD Rosella (Lehigh) Rowe, 71, entered into God's eternal care Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. She was born June 20, 1936, in York, a daughter of the late Samuel and Martha (Weaver) Lehigh. Rosella attended Covenant Life Worship Center, Hanover. She was employed for 20 years as an LPN with the York Lutheran Home, until her retirement in 1972.
In her free time, Rosella loved to play cards and bingo. She also enjoyed crocheting, completing puzzles, and following the Atlanta Braves. Surviving are her daughter, Kayann L. Fuhrman of Hanover; two sons, Michael B. Sutherland and Kevin L. Sutherland, both of Hanover; one brother, Charles Lehigh of Hanover; 13 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two brothers, David W. Lehigh and Amos Lehigh; and two sisters, Hope Dehoff and Faith Lehigh.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with Pastor Kenneth Martz, Jr. officiating. Viewing will be held between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Spring Grove.
Serving as pallbearers will be George Gordon III, Mike Sutherland, John Russell Lehigh, Jon Fowler, Dwaine Smith, and Clem Neiderer. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
