Mr. Charles T. Coats passed away at her home on South Street, Edmeston, on Saturday at 1:45 in the morning, after an illness of one week. A severe cold developed into bronchial pneumonia, and while medical skill and tender care was abundantly supplied, they proved to no avail.
Eleanor Talbot was born at the homestead in Edmeston Feb. 1, 1849, being one of 10 children born to Hiram and Sylvia Talbot. On Oct. 18th 1871 she was married to Charles T. Coats of West Exeter, they taking up residence in that village were a son Merton J. and a daughter Susan L. were born to them. In the spring of 1891 the family moved to Edmeston, where they have since resided.

The funeral services were held from her late home Tuesday, burial was made in the Edmeston Union cemetery.
Surviving relatives are her husband Charles T, Coats, her son, Merton J. Coats and family of Little Falls, her daughter, Mrs. C.E. Quakenbush and family of Edmeston, a sister Mrs. H.J. Brown of Oneonta, a brother, Ruben Talbot of Edmeston, and also numerous nephews and nieces.
