Neil Flanagan was born in Marshfield (now Coos Bay), Oregon on February 2, 1934 to Francis Ruford and Belva Lei Flanagan. He had an older sister Donalee (Nelson) and a younger sister Analyne and a younger brother Michael.
Neil passed away 8/19/2012 in Roseburg, Oregon. He decided it was time to join Mom for coffee at the Lord's coffee shop. He leaves behind a great many friends and family who will miss him terribly, but understand why he left. he leaves behind three children, stepson Steven Flanagan, daughter Leanna Jackson (Mike), and daughter Kacy Flanagan. If asked, he would brag for a very long time about what fantastic grandkids he had. In his opinion, the best in the world. They were the light of his life. His only grandson, Brandon Flanagan, followed in his footsteps by serving in the Marines. While Neil was a Navy man, he was very proud of Brandon. He enjoyed his granddaughters and was very proud of Amber Flanagan who just graduated from OIT. One of the things he enjoyed was watching his youngest three granddaughters play basketball. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Harriet Flanagan, his younger brother Mike Flanagan and his parents Francis and Belva Flanagan. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Neil will be interred in the family plot with Harriet at Sunset Memorial Park in Coos Bay.
