Services for Francis Ruford Flanagan, 74, will be held Monday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Coos Bay, with the Rev. Dr. Everett Curry officiating. Private family interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Services are under the direction of the Coos Bay Chapel of Campbell-Watkins Funeral Homes.
Mr Flanagan, a lifetime resident of the Bay Area, was born Aug. 24, 1904 in Marshfield (now Coos Bay) and died Oct. 11 in North Bend.
He was County Assessor for 27 years for Coos County, member of the First Baptist Church, Coos Bay, past president of the Coos-Curry Historic Association, member of Blanco Lodge 48 AF&AM, Coos Bay, state representative of International Association of Assessing Officers, and cited by Who's Who in the West.
Survivors include his widow, Belva, Coos Bay; two daughters, Donalee Nelson of Taipai, Taiwan, and Analyne Flanagan of Cottage Grove; two sons, Neil Flanagan of Roseburg and Michael J. Flanagan of Coos Bay; two sisters, Belva Gage of Coos Bay and Bess Skates of Oakland, Calif.; two brothers, Bartlett Flanagan of Junction City and Robert Flanagan of Junction City; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
