She was born April 29, 1930 in Ririe, Idaho to William Richard Abbott, M.D. and Verda Zella Pace Abbott. She was educated in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1948.
She married her high school sweetheart Lowell G. Bybee on July 25, 1948 in Idaho Falls. He passed away on June 15, 1998. She lived her entire life in Idaho Falls. At age 16 she worked as a medical transcriptionist for her father and later spent many years as a nurse and administrator of The Idaho Falls Clinic. She and her family later owned and operated Teton Radiology of Idaho Falls. She was a member of the Medical Group Managers Association.
She loved fishing, golfing and camping with her family. She was a strong, generous, compassionate, tolerant, brilliant and optimistic woman with a unique sense of humor.
She is survived by her daughters: Fran (Paul) Sweeney of Cotati, California; Shelley (Dan) Carhill of Damascus, Oregon; Lori (Dan) Furstenau of Idaho Falls; Tamara (Scott) Harmon of Jackson, Wyoming; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and her special little buddy: Winston.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, 3 grandchildren, a sister: Jeanne Franklin and a special friend Emma.
