McMinnville resident and Warren County native Sarah Elizabeth Pennington, 85, was born Jan. 8, 1922 and died Sept. 3 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following a brief illness.
A retired inspector at Dr Pepper Bottling and a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late William and Omega Overall Farless. She was married to Ernest Orville Pennington, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Herbert Ramsey; brother Phillip Farless; one great grandchild and special friend, George Davis.
She is survived by one son and daughter in law, David and Nell Pennington of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Debra Lancaster, Jeff Lancaster, Tammie and Kelly Ross, Sharon and Dwayne Holt and Brandon Pennington, all of McMinnville and Tina and Allan Johnston of Woodbury; eight great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; half brother, H. B. Ramsey of Michigan; one sister in law; three nieces and one nephew.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a. m. Friday in High's Chapel with Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11
a. m. until 9 p. m. Thursday and from 9 a. m. until time of service Friday at High's.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
