DeWayne Leroy Aberg, the son of John and Emma (Wittlake) Aberg, was born on May 14, 1935 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on January 5, 2013 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 77 years, 7 months, 22 days.

DeWayne attended Superior Public Schools and graduated from Superior High School. He was united in marriage to Rhoda Peak on March 31, 1967 in Columbia, South Carolina and to this union a son was born. He was inducted into the United States Army with a 21 year career retiring as a Master sergeant in 1974. He was employed at the Army record center in St. Louis, Missouri, retired Military duty for 6 years. Upon moving to Superior he was the City Clerk for 14 years and also worked at Pamida in Superior for 6 years. After retiring Rhoda and DeWayne moved to Papillion, Nebraska.

DeWayne enjoyed fishing, attending baseball games, reading, playing chess, spending time with his grandkids and his wife.

He was a member of the VFW, American Legion Club, Lions Club, First Baptist Church in Superior and Overland Hills Church in Papillion, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Rhoda of Omaha, Nebraska; son John and wife Racheal of Papillion, Nebraska and daughter Sherry Anderson and husband Rick of Columbia, South Carolina; grandchildren Jacob and Kaitlyn Aberg, Madison and Christian Cascio, Jordan and Jennifer Anderson, other relatives and a host of friends.

Memorial services were held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11:00 am from the First Baptist Church in Superior, Ne with Rev. Floyd Richardson officiating.

Music was "On Eagles Wings," "Amazing Grace," and "How Great Thou Art," with, Carlita Price as the organist and Tiffany Willett as the soloist.

Book signing was held on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 pm.

Honorary Pallbearers were Terry Lemke, Roger Lemke, Lonnie Lemke, Earl Peak, Ronnie Garner and James Hills.

Inurnment with Full Military Honors was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
