FRED MICHAELS DIES SUDDENLY - Funeral services for Fred Michaels, 79, who dropped dead at a service station on the corner of California and Sherman in North Bend Friday night, will be held from the Grimm funeral home in North Bend at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Wendell Coe, pastor of the North Bend Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Sunset cemetery.
Deceased was a native of Lacyne, Kan., and had made his home in North Bend for the past 10 years, coming here from Boise, Ida., where he was a member of Ada lodge no. 3, IOOF. He had been afflicted with a heart ailment for a number of years and had been undergoing treatment at Kelzer hospital.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Oscar King, North Bend; Mrs. Verna Jensen, Klamath Falls, and Mrs. Edna Rives, San Francisco; a son C. E. Michaels, Kennewick, Wash,; a sister, Mrs. John Critz, Tacoma, Wash., seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

5 Sept 2003- I called North Bend Chapel in Oregon who gave me Fred's birth date and that his wife's name was Susan. Also, that the Boise, Idaho Odd Fellows Lodge paid for his burial. [LS]
