She was born on August 4, 1923 in Springfield, Colorado to Frank and Miriam Millican. After losing her parents at a young age, Amy was raised by her aunt and uncle, Rol and Amy Yehle, in Enid, Oklahoma.
In 1941, she graduated from Enid High School. She worked at Oklahoma Gas and Electric prior to marrying Leland "Ike" Sloan on August 2, 1953.
To this union were born three children: Melodie (Blake) Mitchell of Mancos, Colorado, Larry (Audrey) Sloan of Chadron, Nebraska, and Jennifer (Paul) Kee of Mesa, Arizona.
A kind, loving, caring "mom to all", Amy was a friendly conversationalist who was always interested in other people. Gifted with a beautiful soprano voice, she was involved in the church choir wherever she lived. Her skills in English made her excel as a secretary at Arizona Public Service (APS) and other companies.
A lover of babies and children, she enjoyed many wonderful years with her ten grandchildren. A wonderful wit and a love of life to the end caused all who knew her to love her.
Amy was preceded in death by her beloved husband and one brother, Frank Millican, Jr. She is survived by her brother LR (Mona) Millican, her sister-in-law Mary Millican (all of Springfield, Colorado), her three children, their spouses, ten grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
