Vincent Frank Lindsey was born Vincent Frank Cornell, son of Francis B. and Delia Zoe (Ayotte) Cornell. They were also the parents of Edna Louise Cornell, sister of Vincent. Delia and Frank were divorced. She married her second husband, Elbert P. Lindsey, about 1904. They were the parents of at least two children, Eugene Elbert "Gene" Lindsey and Dixie Delbert Lindsey. Eugene was a Naval Academy grad in 1927. He was killed in action during the Air Battle of Midway, 04 Jun 1942. He was the commanding officer of Torpedo Squadron Six from the USS Enterprise (CV-6).
