Mr. Leroy Preston Jackson, 77, of Carroll Street, Moreland, Ga. died Thursday, July 8, 1999 at Fayette Community Hospital.

Mr. Jackson was born May 12, 1922 in Moreland. He was a retired prison guard and served in the U.S. Army.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-9 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan.

A funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11 at the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Eley and the Rev. Mickey Noles will officiate, and burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Roscoe Road.

Pallbearers will be Lanny Caldwell, Joe Jackson, Douglas Rowe and Sam Whitley. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Getty, Dick Hunter, Barlow (Junior) Kimble, William Morris, James Mullins, Groover Pergerson, Ace Powell, Ray Yeager, Aaron Massey and Capt. Wendell Whitlock.

Surviving are his wife, Faye Jackson of Moreland; daughter, Angela Leigh Jackson Perry of Moreland; brothers, Ralph Jackson of Moreland, William Jackson of Newnan and Katherine Norman of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Macie Elizabeth Perry and Mitchell Preston Perry of Moreland.
