John Abel, one of Hamilton township's highly respected citizens, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Spaulding, three miles north of Cortland, Saturday morning, June 17, 1911, of infirmities of old age. Deceased was born July 20, 1836. Besides his widow he leaves four sons and four daughters, viz: Miss Clara Mains, Charles, John, Nora, Josephine, of Seymour; Dr. Virgil Abel, of Vallonia; Miss Anna of Muncie, and Will, of Washington, D. C. The funeral was conducted at the residence Monday afternoon at two o'clock.
