The daughter of Furman Alvin Bolt and Lila Louise Brownlee Bolt, Mom was married to Charles Hazel for over 61 years. She was the sister to the late Furman Alvin, Jr. and Cathryn Bolt (who both died as infants) and the late James Bolt, Dib Bolt Lyons, Ozzie Bolt Nelson, and Melvin Bolt. She is survived by a brother and sister. Their mother died when Mom was 19.

Mom was born in the Fairview community of Laurens County, just below Fountain Inn. She lived on E. Main, Beattie, and Wilson Streets in Laurens while growing up. She worked at a shirt plant for a short time, then married in June of 1951 and raised three kids. In 1974, she went to work at Bi-Lo in Mauldin and remained until she retired.

Mom was a New Year's baby, who loved celebrating all holidays, especially Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, and Halloween. She loved her church and church friends, gospel music, and keeping a clean house. She loved good old southern country cooking and loved the hymns "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art". And most of all, she loved her grandkids and great grandkids (more than they will ever understand).

Mom passed away at 5:55a on Monday, November 5, 2012... just 2 days before her big brother James, 12 days before her brother-in-law Darrell, and 7 weeks before her husband, Charles. She waited patiently for them all.

I know she was so happy to see all those who had gone before, most of all the beloved mother she had missed for 63 years.

What Salvation's Done For Me

Over the Rainbow

And So This Woman - This Mother Of Mine

And so this woman
Went about her day -
From one to the next
In the same old way.
Doing the chores -
The wash, the dusting;
Leaning on God,
Believing and trusting;
Knowing that life was short
If not sweet;
And laying her cares
Down at the Lord’s feet.

But now she’s above
And finally knowing
The truth of His love -
The grace that He’s showing.
She still goes about
Each and every day,
But no longer routine
In the same old way.
And so this woman,
Who’s safe home at last,
Rests with the angels;
Her chores in the past.
