William Martin Heimer, age 76 of Newark, Missouri, passed away Monday, October I4, 2002 at the Boone County Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
The son of Charles W and Beulah E. (Kaylor) Heimer, he was born January 8, 1926 at Hurdland, Missouri.
During his earlier years he farmed in the Hurdland community with horses. He was employed at the McSorley Lime & Rock Quarry and later the Kelly Lime & Rock Company for twenty-six plus years. After retiring he and his nephew-in-law, Gene Campbell started a partnership business, the B&G Wood Carvers. They are both listed in the "Best of Missouri Hands" and are also listed in the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. Their hand wood carvings have been sold all over the United States.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, wood carving and doing word search puzzles.
He is survived by two sisters, one brother, two half-sisters and two half-brothers. Mabel (Mickey) Small of Hebron, Indiana, Erma Robertson and her husband, Calvin of Edina, Missouri, Noble Kenneth Heimer and his wife, Sydney of LaBelle, Missouri, Richard Heimer and his wife Melody of Kansas City, Missouri, Norma Morgan and her husband, Joe of Kansas City, Missouri. Minnie Blaine of Shelbyville, Missouri, and Charles of Moberly, Missouri, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W Heimer, Beulah E. Kaylor Heimer, three sisters, Ellen Whitman, Eva Heimer and Susie Pickens; one brother, Edward L. Heimer and four nephews, Steven Bond, Danny Parton, Joe Parton and Charles E. Heimer
