Mr. Gentry died Sept. 23, 2011, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
He was born in Charleston on March 31, 1931, to the late Willie Levi Gentry and Lucy S. Shelley Gentry.
Mr. Gentry was a coil assembler for McQuay/Heatcraft and a member of Adams Arbor Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his parents, preceding Mr. Gentry in death is his son, Willie Lane Gentry.
Surviving Mr. Gentry are his wife, Evelyn H. Clolinger Gentry of Charleston; two daughters, Teresa Ashley of Tupelo and Lucy Lenise Gentry of Charleston; five sisters, Mary Byars, Cora Taylor, Lois Newton, Alice Clolinger, all of Charleston and Emma Brown of Holcomb; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38l05.
