Ann Baccus, 80, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born December 27, 1932 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Ewing "Zeke" and Helen (Bishop) Horne.
Ann grew up and attended school in Lawton, Oklahoma and graduated with a degree in English from the University of Oklahoma. She was an educator and guidance counselor of over 30 years at both West Junior High and Norman High School. She was the Director of the Single Parents, Displaced Homemaker Program at the Moore/Norman Technology Center and a private counselor for military personnel and children. Ann's hobbies included playing golf, traveling and reading. She was a member of the Board of the Women's Resource Center and the past treasurer of the Altrusa Club and a Rotary member. Ann loved helping people. The joys of her heart were her family and grandchildren.
Ann is survived by one son, Todd Trimble and his wife Lee of Carrolton, TX; two daughters, Beth Allan of Edmond, OK and Amy Wood and her husband Mark of Edmond. The light of her life was her grandchildren, Jeffrey Trimble, Joshua Trimble and wife Casey, Emily Allan, Nathan Wood, Amanda Wood and fiancé Chris Wilson and Stephen Wood; cousins, Hugh and Valerie Gates and Kim Gates all of Franklin, Vermont; and her loving ex-husband, Preston Trimble and his wife Patty Trimble. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Baccus in May of 1995.
Memorials may be made to the Women's Resource Center, 501 E. Alameda St., Ste. E, Norman, OK 73071.
Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2013 with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home with interment following in the Norman I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
