Born March 13, 1924, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Harris P. Sr. and Dorothy J. Powers Blomeyer, he married Rosetta J. DeBruin on Sept. 4, 1948, in Pella, Iowa. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Alan (and Barbara) of Milwaukee and David of Carbondale; one daughter, Carol (and Robert) Bibbs of Virginia Beach, Va.; and one brother, Harris (and Nancy) of Scottsdale, Ariz.
A World War II Army veteran serving in the Pacific Theater, he was awarded three Bronze Stars.
A Caterpillar Inc. employee for 37 years, he worked in sales and marketing and then was advertising manager for Caterpillar Overseas in Geneva, Switzerland.
He attended the University of Illinois and received a degree in mechanical engineering from Bradley University.
He served as a Cub master with the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of Peoria Rotary North, Peoria Color Camera Club, Peoria Woodworking Club and the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association. He was a charter member of Lakeview Museum and also Willow Knolls Country Club.
He was a ruling elder for Second Presbyterian Church and a member of First Federated Church. He also taught Sunday school.
Cremation has been accorded and private inurnment will be in the First Federated Columbarium.
