Death of a Little One.
Born, July 1, 1899, died, Aug. 16, Mary Julia, infant daughter of C. G. and Addie Brotherton. This sweet little blossom, bright beyond its age, endured the ills of earth life but seven short weeks, are being transplanted to the gardens above. The pet and pride of parents and four small brothers, she was too frail for earth, and God took her to His loving care again, and though their hearts are torn and sad, they rest in the sweet assurance that in God's own good time they shall meet her again.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lucas in the Sunday-school Hall at Guthrie on Sunday afternoon, preceded by a short service at the house. A quartette from the Guthrie Sunday-school rendered appropriate music, and four small boys from the same school served as pall bearers. A large concourse of relations and friends united in this last tribute of love and followed the remains to the beautiful cemetery at Gibson to await the coming of the resurrection. The service was touching and comforting throughout, and the kindness and sympathy shown the afflicted ones will always be held in grateful remembrance by them.
