Mrs. Carl Johnson, 95, 16th
St. N., died at 10:30 p.m. Sat-
urday at Riverview Hospital af-
ter a brief illness. She had been
a patient there since Thursday.
Funeral services will be held
Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Baker-
Wilkinson Chapel, the Rev. Don-
ald Cottom officiating. Burial
will take place in the Pioneer
Cemetery, town of Saratoga.
Mrs. Johnson, whose maiden
name was Elin Berggren, was
born in Granna, Sweden, Sept.
13, 1873, the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Berggren. She
came to this country in 1891
and on Sept. 22, 1901, was mar-
ried to Carl G. Johnson in Chi-
cago. They came to this area
shortly after their marriage and
farmed in the town of Saratoga
until his death in 1943. Since
then she made her home in
Wisconsin Rapids.
Surviving ars a daughter,
Miss Alphild Johnson, a teacher
at Howe school, and a son, Jas-
per C. Johnson, Wood County
clerk of courts...
Two daughters, a brother and
six sisters preceded her in
death....
