Funeral of Alton Denton
The remains of Alton Denton, who lost his life Tuesday, at the government shipyard at Natchez, Miss., when he was accidentally electrocuted arrived on the noon train today and were taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. Winifred Ashby, west Second street. The remains were accompanied by the widow and a small daughter and Mrs. Denton's parents.
Funeral services were held at the Ashby home at 2 o'clock this afternoon by Rev. W. S. Rader and the interment was in Springdale cemetery.
The decedent was 31 years of age and was born in Madison, having spent most of his life here. His tragic death is the cause of much sorrow by a wide circle of friends.
Besides the widow and small daughter, the deceased is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ashby, of this city, and Mrs. C.R. Law, of Bedford, Ky., and two brothers, Carl Denton, of this city and Howard Denton, of Bloomington.
